Fresh from forge in 2025, part of the revival of North Carolina Silversmithing.
Hand hammered, and hand forged from a cast coin silver ingot (.800-.900/1,000 silver)- made from melting down silver coins- just as the late 18th century and Federal period silversmiths of North Carolina would have done.
The hand hammered finish is unmistakably authentic- as is the hand finishing with sand and rouge- to give a true deep burnish and glow.
In the truest Georgian fashion form the tip is embossed with a die struck scallop shell motif.
Fully marked and signed- Old North Pewter - Solid Coin Silver.

Custom and personalized orders
We regularly create custom order pieces. Besides special order pieces for individuals, we have made presentation pieces for the DAR, NCSDAC, as well as several historical societies. Simply drop us a message with an idea of what you are looking for and we will produce a sketching and provide an estimate of how long it will take to craft.
Care instructions
All of our pewter is lead free and should not be placed in the dishwasher. Gentle cleaning with warm water and soap is all that is needed to clean the pieces. Over time the pewter will naturally dull slightly, which is appealing to many. However it that is undesired a paste of baking soda and water will bring back much of the luster.
